Wandies Place

(1 Rating)
A Soweto institution
Bill Clinton, Richard Branson, Jesse Jackson... All the lefty VIPs have eaten at Wandie's, a former shebeen (clandestine bar) whose global fame rests not only on its illustrious clientele but its terrific homestyle cooking. Local dishes include dumplings, chicken and mutton stews, greens, and spicy salads, all served buffet style for about $11. There is, of course, a full bar. Popular with tour groups.
